Don't you love the comments that young children can make; the ones that make you smile or laugh right out loud? Madie had a couple of smile moments yesterday when her grandfather and I picked her up and then her mommy at supper time. I had just gotten into Grampy's truck on our way to mommy's office when she began pontificating about various subjects. After a few minutes of Madie wisdom, her grandfather said, "Madie, how did you get to be so smart?" To which she replied, "I don't know, I haven't even taken Science yet!" Grampy and I smiled at each other. Look out when she does!
Then on the way across the bridge, we decide that mommy needed a new pair of snow pants to play outside with her on their huge snowbank in the front yard; and wouldn't Wal-Mart be the place to go with supper at McD's! Grampy grumbled that it would cut into his nap time but we reminded him he could sleep in the truck so off we went
;-) Mommy went to look for the pants while Madie and I shopped for a crazy carpet to slide on. We looked at the reduced toys, no crazy carpet. We checked out a few other aisles with no luck so I suggested we try sporting goods. Along the way she was stopping to look at things and as we were heading to the next venue she stopped again. I told her that we needed to move along, that Grampy was waiting and we had to get her supper too. She protested, "just a MINUTE Grammie please!" I took my stern voice and if she didn't come now we wouldn't have time to find a crazy carpet. She turned and headed back to where she wanted to go anyway, and exasperated I followed her to the paint guy who was at his counter. My granddaughter, in a very grown up voice said, "Excuse me, but could you tell me where I could find a crazy carpet?" He smiled and replied, "Yes, at the main toy section on the next aisle to your right." "Thank you," she replied. She joins me as we head in that direction. "See Grammie, you have to ask!" I said, "You're correct Madie, how did you get so smart!" And we know the answer to that one!

As soon as we walk into a store, if she even suspects that I might not know *exactly* where something is...she finds an associate. That way she doesn't have to follow me all over a department store. She gets her brain from her mother :-D
HA! That kid is toooo funny! Nothing like a madie adventure to brighten my day! What a mini grownup!
