What Makes People Cranky?

I don't understand crankiness in the least. Why would you choose to be cranky... because it is a choice. Okay, so you make everyone around you miserable and maybe that's the whole idea, but usually in the meantime, you make yourself miserable, too. Unless you take great joy in ruining someone's day, but still I find it hard to believe that in the end you can prevent yourself from being affected by your crankiness.

I CHOOSE to be happy. I CHOOSE to be upbeat and positive. I CHOOSE this because the alternative is unhappiness and discontent. And life is too short not to enjoy every second.

Bad and unhappy things do happen to everyone, and that doesn't mean that you can't feel sad emotions, but you can choose whether or not you are going to let it affect your life long term, or whether you will learn from the pain. Out of all tragedy, there is a road to peace and joy in the end. It is the way of the universe runs if you tune yourself into it.

I read a book called "The Secret", which impressed me so much that I bought copies for my girls. The premise is that the law of the universe is such - thought is central to all energy and therefore, like attracts like. In other words, if you think positive thoughts, positive things happen. It is based on complete faith and is proven time again throughout the ages. It's a great book if you haven't read it, and it will show you the way to living the life you've always wanted.

There is a proponent of "The Secret" who told friends she would not attend an anti-war rally, but she would be first in line for a peace rally - see the difference? The more you think either positive or negative thoughts, the more you get back what you offer to the universe.

So it's hard not to let crankiness and negativity affect you when it's offered your way, and then let it get in the way of your positive vibes. But it is one of the challenges of life.

I've experienced quite a bit of it lately so this is my affirmation to try even harder to block it out. In fact I take back the question I posed as the title for this blog? It's now called "Why not choose to be happy?" I do!

Although that's A LOT of blocking...something needs to be done
