You Have to Wonder

Back in November, I broke my ankle stepping into a leaf-covered hole on the playground with Madie. The ER (Oromocto) doctor requested an x-ray and then proceeded to tell me my ankle wasn't broken. I walked on it for two days, when I got a call saying that the radiologist had read the x-ray and it was broken after all. I went for a cast which turned out to be wrongly "constructed" and had it taken off - opting for an air cast.

This week I went to the ER again as I literally could not stop coughing and felt like my chest had weights on it. The ER (DECH) doctor (not the same one by the way) ordered a chest x-ray after which she tells me whatever I have is viral but it's not pneumonia. I take regular cough medicine for four days without much improvement, so I make an appointment to see my family doctor. Coincidently, while on my way to the appointment, he's trying to call me to tell me I have pneumonia after all. So I am assuming a radiologist has finally read the x-ray and sent it to my doctor.

My question, why don't they just wait for a radiologist to read x-rays.
